Reflecting on Autumn

Along the shores of a slow-moving stream, fiery leaves of autumn glow on the trees on a clear, cool day. Their colors reflect in the water as the leaves fall like sparks, each slowly extinguished.

Reflecting on Spring

This painting was an interesting challenge since there's technically no sky in it. Instead, we see a grassy riverbank with some trees next to the water, with the sky reflected above. Pink flowers are mirrored in the water, with petals floating by on the slow current as spring passes.

Golden Trees and Reflections

This autumn view was inspired by a photo in this month's WetCanvas Landscape Challenge thread. Scenes like this one are common along many of the rivers and streams in the eastern United States in the autumn since so many kinds of trees, from hickories to sycamores to tulip poplars, turn shades of copper and gold in the fall.
